The role of Solar cable diode connector

Photovoltaic electrode tubes include a variety of electrode tubes, each with its own role.

1. Blocking diodes. The blocking diode is placed on the positive line between the module and the battery to prevent the battery current from flowing back to the photovoltaic array at night or on cloudy days. Some controllers include an anti-reverse circuit that can achieve this function with a diode.

2. Bypass diode. Bypass diodes are placed in parallel with the module and are used to divert current through the cell or module when shadows appear on the module. The bypass diodes in most components have been pre-connected. When the square array voltage is not higher than 48V, it can generally meet the requirements. In a large square array, when a string of components fails, the current of other normal components can pass through the path formed by the bypass diode, so as to ensure that the entire photovoltaic square array can still work normally.

3. Isolation diode. When the operating voltage of the square array is higher than 48V, install the isolation diode. When a string of components or branches of the square array fails, the isolation diode can isolate the normal branch from the faulty branch, thereby preventing the current drop of the normal branch components. Among them, the rated current of the diode selected by the system designer is at least 2 times the maximum current expected to pass through, and the withstand voltage of the diode can withstand at least 2 times the reverse working voltage.
