The Mohammad Solar Park in Dubai is at the heart of the UAE's long-term strategy to shift its focus to renewable energy. The striking 262-meter-tall structure is one of the crown jewels of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
Noor Energy 1 adopts the world's leading "tower + trough" centralized CSP technology. Its configuration includes a 1x100MW tower molten salt heat storage generator set and 3x200MW trough molten salt heat storage generator set, and the tower unit is configured for 15 hours Heat storage system, each trough unit is equipped with a 13.5-hour heat storage system, and the total power generation capacity of the solar thermal part reaches 700MW.
The solar park is already operating in phases starting in the third quarter of 2021.
The project is the largest solar power generation project in the world so far. It is jointly invested by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority DEWA, China Silk Road Fund, Saudi International Power and Water Group, and is the general contractor of ACWA Power and Shanghai Electric. National key engineering project. The project will effectively promote the optimization and upgrading of Dubai's energy structure and is also a landmark project in the Middle East market. After the project is put into operation, it will provide clean electricity to 320,000 local households and reduce carbon emissions by 1.6 million tons per year, which is of great significance for the implementation of Dubai's 2050 clean energy strategy.
